Ever since George Bush was re-elected, conservatives have been telling liberals to "get over it." Excuse me? "Get over it?" This wasn't a baseball game. This wasn't the Super Bowl. We're not sobbing in our beers because the Steelers whipped the Packers.
We're at war. People's lives are at stake. Every day, families are being destroyed, both here and in Iraq. To treat this election so dismissively is an insult to them and to the soldiers who gave life and limb in this war.

At some point us humans have to move beyond nationalism and ideology toward universal humanism dedicated to the ultimate survival of the human race.
Our sun is dying, the galaxy revolves around a black hole which acts like a drain to all mater in its vicinity, if we hope to ever survive, we need to drop our petty differences and move on.
Life is fucking simple like that.

Everything our Revolutionary fathers fought for has been destroyed by greed, the liberal/conservative divide, homosexuality, and general ignorance in the population.
It will be resolved through radical government change to Communism, another Revolution, or another country taking USA over.

agreed....at some point, my guess is within the next 25-50 years America will become a full fledged police state. nightly curfews, checkpoints on the interstate, and a total lack of personal freedom. it all starts in the name of safety...

I feel horrible that we have to fight. My grandfather fought in WWI, my best friend from high school is in Iraq right now. My current roomate has PTSD from a tour in Iraq. I dated a girl that served two years there.
The saddest thing: we couldn't beat Hitler if we fought today. Political correctness has trumped neccessity. Obviously, veterans need to be treated better, but to see so much publicity given to 4,000 deaths versus 407,000 or so military deaths in WWII is very disconcerting. Again, not to say those who have died in Iraq were not worth mentioning . . . ahh hell, 407,000 plus died in WWII and we cheered, 4,000 have died and we flee. If not us, who? If not now, when?

I might agree that we "have" to fight, if we still appeared to be concerned about bin Laden. Both Germany and Japan attacked us; Iraq never did.

We cheered when we won WWII, even though we lost 100x what we've lost in Iraq, because we were right.

Correct, Iraq never did attack us directly or indirectly. (Discounting attacking us at the Kuwaiti Gas Pump). We went for the neocon B/S reasons (I am a true conservative); we are leaving for good reasons. I support Ron Paul; before you discount me understand that I am all about pulling out, but, it still makes me sad that a German/Japanese/Islamist could beat us up/out!

This is a terrible, unjust war. But it is fought by a democracy, and the decision to wage it was democratic.
Both elections were close calls; both made me wonder, not what is wrong with Bush, but what is wrong with the American people. When the second term came along, the case against, and state of, the Iraq war was a no-brainer. And still they re-elected him.
It's almost taboo to say it, but what the past 8 years showed is that maybe, democracy isn't as infallible as Americans think it is.

Multiethnic country voting for nationalists (which spread messages of fear and hate) can be equivalent of suicide...and that is exactly what happened. Now Bosnians blame politicians...but hey...Bosnians stupidly voted for their own destruction. They never realized their responsibility as citizens in democratic society and full implications of their vote.
In USA people voted for Halliburton, oil, CNN, FOX, revenge, corporate war contractors that enjoy unlimited supply of tax dollars, health care and education for fewer Americans... instead for their own national interests.
Democracy is not good or bad, but our vote is.

Well...I agree it may be some electoral issues...but this is not about 10% against 90%...margin of separation is very small...it still raises same issue...you can blame electoral system...but I would blame voters...obviously...democrats did not really try hard to win last election since republicans made so much mess, democrats did not even want to try to win (deal with your own republican mess now).
