Not Working?
Take a junker Jaguar and pit it against the world's top speedsters and it loses. Add a little nitrous oxide and it beats them all hands down.

I've said it before: I hate cars, but Top Gear is good fun.
Re: Top Gear: Nitrous Jag
I'm 100% with you. While I like nice cars, I'm no motor head. And I can barely work on them. Hell, I changed my own oil a few times and rotated tires. Beyond that? My mechanic is my friend.

Re: Top Gear: Nitrous Jag
I actually actively dislike cars. People are at their absolute worst when they're behind the wheel. I think it has something to do with being physically abstracted from the whole situation by being inside the car - forced to communicate through arm waving, horn, lights flashing, and road rage driving.
Our whole society (and this is pretty true internationally - though less so in the third world) is precariously balanced on this expectation of being able to travel 20 miles in an arbitrary direction in 20 minutes or so. Call me a hippie but I hate that, moving 3000 lbs. a distance of 20 miles is a stupidly fucking unnecessary waste of not-so-renewable energy for most of the reasons that action is executed.
The only redeeming aspect to me is the engineering, and top gear is totally into it.
All that said, we own a '98 accord that I routinely drive from Seattle to Portland or Eugene, OR with my wife since the train is more expensive when you take 2 people. Nuts I tell ya.

Re: Top Gear: Nitrous Jag
I understand the point is they can take a junker and add NOS and voila fast car.. But if your going say your going to beat a Vette or any of these other cars you might as well choose a fast version.. The Corvette Z06 is nearly two seconds faster then the hotrod jag even after NOS.. I'm sure some of the other cars are the same.
