Very well put together. The best is the end when he's jumping up and down.

Pretty tasteless. There was some serious shit going on there. I don't understand why everyone was just letting it happen. What's happening to people? Baaaa baaaa.

It's too late, this is a police state. Stop resisting, stop thinking, they know whats best for you.

Hey can we start another Civil War? I call Robert E. Lee!
Seriously though, that was some pretty fucked up stuff that happened. I mean they already had the guy in handcuffs and there were like six cops and he had no weapons. They didn't need to tase him. I wish the guy had been black, though, not because I'm about hurting black guys, but because that way Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and so forth would be suing the cops and giving John Kerry and the school hell for it.

I'm not sure what you are saying they should have done that they did not do.
This guy, Andrew Mayer, basically tried to hijack a public forum. According to the Wikipedia entry on the incident, he was waiting in line for the microphone when it was announced that no more questions would be taken. He basically came down the aisle, grabbed the microphone, and demanded that Kerry answer his question. He then launched into his rambling speech, talking for a minute and half, and saying that he was just getting started. People cheered when the police pulled him away from the microphone because he was being a crazy asshole and gave every indication that he was going to continue to be one.
You can look at the extended video here: http://video.nbc6.net/player/?id=157250#videoid=157250
Once the police started tasing him, people in the audience didn't just sit there. A number of them jumped up and started yelling at the police to stop. They then followed as the cops took him out of the hall. Meyer is convinced that he is going to be killed, or turned over to "the government." The people who have followed the police volunteer to be witnesses for him.
I'm not sure what you wanted people to do. The police were protecting the free speech rights of the audience, Kerry, and the organizers by getting Meyer away from the microphone when he made it clear he was going to make a speech and not let Kerry answer the three questions he had already asked. When the police got out of hand, people did react. Are you saying they should have rushed the cops?

Hey, anyone remember what a filabuster is? I tried to look it up but I dont comprehend too well.
(lol @ use of term "hijack")
I think Andrew was actually trying to terrorize a public forum. he was probably sent by osama as a religious martyr. Im sure he had C4 in his colon.
Anyhow, enough of my ass-hattery.
He was more annoying when he was being tazed me thinks.

You know, I think this is what's wrong with society today - no one can find a reason to laugh at things anymore. Whether this was in poor taste or not, it's funny!

Re: Don't Tase Me, Bro!
tsackett, thanks for the link to the extended video.
I don't think he did anything to provoke being tazed. The officers could have removed him from the area much faster and easier. Even Kerry was willing to hear him out and answer his questions. Sure he kind of came off as a tin foil hat wearing conspiracy theorist, but he didn't really do anything to warrant being arrested.
The cops say he was inciting a riot. From what I saw it was the police who came closer to starting a riot.

Re: Don't Tase Me, Bro!
I agree that they should not have tased him, and that the "inciting a riot" charge is bullshit. (I wonder if that is what cops do when someone under arrest asks other people for help. Back in the eighties, the police tried to arrest a protester during an anti-apartheid demonstration. Another student tried to pull him back away from the cops. They charged the second guy with "lynching.")
The main thing I wanted to get across, though, is that this is not an example of a crowd doing nothing in the face of injustice. They wanted this guy to stop disrupting the event, and he made it clear that he wouldn't stop until he was kicked out. However, once it was obvious that the police were using excessive force, people did react.
