Hugh Cornwell sings "Baby, baby, welcome to my world", but the images tell a very different story: he is doubly trapped, both in the world of the female figure that metamorphoses throughout the video, and of course in Svankmajer's world. I went to one of his gigs not long after The Stranglers had split. It wasn't that good.. but he was doing his best... as he kept on telling us.
