PCs are more powerful than consoles. So why do PC games still look so fake and rubbery?

One of the reasons could be that PC games run on higher video resolutions than consoles, so they require higher quality textures and more accurate rendering algorithms.
If you run them at the same resolution they probably looks the same.
BUt I'm not very keen on the matter. That could likely be a marketing strategy.
