I think the point the poster was making is "why do people care what this idiot has to say". Yes she has the right to speak, as do you douchbag, but why would anyone care to listen to her?

The purpose of extremists is to say the most outlandish things, so the rest of us can feel comparatively moderate. A person may say "hey, I disagree with most rational people about issue X, but at least I'm not coulter/jackson/oreilly/falwell/etc". Indeed, the majority of us consider ourselves moderates.
