Not Working?
A serious, scientific look into the construction and failure of the structures.
The World Trade Center was built on revolutionary design principles. It turned conventional architectural and structural techniques on their head.
Built from a thin web of steel, its design was efficient, cost-effective and would inspire a new wave in modern building techniques. The result was two towers that were both lightweight and strong.
When they were completed they were the tallest in the world. They were also milestones of architecture for another reason. The two towers were the first skyscrapers explicitly designed to withstand being hit by a jet plane.
From a 2002 episode of BBC Horizon.

Not science fiction, like that Loose Change idiocy.

Re: BBC Horizon: The Fall of the WTC Towers
Guiliani remembers 9/11. But after the first WTC attack he put the anti-terrorism control center in the basement of the WTC. According to this film that where the terrorists had bombed the building in 1992. Does this man really know what he is doing?
Also, I have to agree. It is a lot more scientific than Loose Change. 9/11 is not a conspiracy, people!

Love your political overview. The one good thing about Giuliani's reign in NYC is that he had a lot of Federal funds and general revenue because the economy was booming and there was a budgetary surplus. Okay, two good things. You can now take the the Staten Island Ferry for free instead of paying a quarter to ride across the harbor.

"9/11 is not a conspiracy, people!"
For this to be true it would mean the 9/11 attacks were carried out by four people who were completely unaware of the other hijackings and attacks occurring.
Whatever you choose to believe the 9/11 attacks were a conspiracy. And yes the official version of events is just as much a 'conspiracy theory' as the 'inside job' theory.

Of course it was a conspiracy! Look at all the rights we lost after that! Bush does what he wants. The problem with most people is that they see the world in only Black and White. And thats what the Govrmnt thrives on is the GRAY that no ones seems to want to see or believe!
Funny how all those other buildings fell too??? OH! Steel melts at a much higher temp. that jet fuel! Do the Math People!

Aluminum buttresses, as I have stated in another thread, held up each floor. Aluminum melts at 550C whereas most steel (depending on the alloy) melts at 1600C and above.

Well I guess I'm staying out of "tall buildings."

I'm no conspiracy theorist but this lead us to a war in Iraq and who has made the most profit out of that? Look it up...

Re: BBC Horizon: The Fall of the WTC Towers
how come it didn't cover how building 7 mysteriously fell? A building which contained a bunch of legal cases in progress that had to do with wall street among other things. There is too much justified information out and much that has been erased (by the AP, though Alex Jones has been able to save much of it before it was taken off of AP websites) to not question the validity of Osama and 9/11. Have any of you actually looked at a picture of Osama, and then looked at the video in which he admitted to being responsible to 9/11 (even though on the day of he denied such involvement) awwek after the incident? It is not the same man.

Re: BBC Horizon: The Fall of the WTC Towers
What I liked about this documentary is that it put aside seedy political underpinnings. As a regular member of the public who lacks any real knowledge or power pertaining to the dark gargantuan motions of political figures, I feel I have no place pointing a finger or suspecting anyone. It feels almost selfish to grasp at the kind of attention which that kind of questionable knowledge grants, as attention is all it grants since none of us, even collected into a slightly informed mob, could actually use that knowledge to accomplish anything. We are fish who apprehend a refracted view of the world above water, and people like George Bush get a refracted view of the world beneath water. Some of us are aware of this condition, others not, while others are sophists in denial.
While arguments about conspiracy in the world trade center attacks can be stimulating, it seems a guilty pleasure when thinking about how people really really really died, whereas we don't really really really know anything about anything that matters. I personally choose not to take discussion of this topic as a form of entertainment, like reading a novel or playing video games. After all, when is the last time those activities accomplished anything for anyone but ourselves. That's the last time I'll ever mention this outside of my head.

I couldn't have put it better myself. Stick to the facts in a scientific and educational manner and skip all the politics.

Re: BBC Horizon: The Fall of the WTC Towers
This is a great scientific look at how the WTC actually collapsed. Although i don't feel as though concrete walls would of made a difference because if a 767 flew into them i some how doubt it would of stopped it.
And for conspiracy theoriests out there. There are videos on youtube showing tiny exlposions several floors below the pancaking floors as they come down. As some people have speculated that it was a "controlled" explosion that "helped" the twin towers on their way down.
