I dont agree.
I believe its more of a reference to Interstella 5555 - the movie of the Discovery album.
In this movie, each song from the Discovery album is accompanied by a scene mirroring the feel of each track.
The scene that accompanies 'Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger' is one where the heroes of the movie (the band 'The Crescendolls') are scanned and then 'improved' by similar machines for the benefit of the evil music industry overlord and his plans to take over the universe... or something like that.

It may have something to do with the fact that it's 4am and i've been out all night drinking and dancing but this song rocks and me and 5 friends have "volumised" this song and it rocks, so good to dance to, like it alot :D
