The Dresden Dolls: Shores of California The music video for Shores of California, the ninth track and third single from the album Yes, Virginia, the second studio album by the Dresden Dolls and the first of theirs under the label Roadrunner Records. The title of the album is a reference to an editorial in the New York Sun on September twenty-first, 1897 with the headline, “Is There a Santa Claus?” The editorial, sent in by Virginia O’Hanlon, included a response (written by Francis Pharcellus Church) to the letter which dealt with the philosophical aspects of the question as well as answering "Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Clause." The music video for the song includes cameos by Liam Sullivan as Kelly (Shoes, Txt Mssg Brkup,) David J. (Bauhaus,) Margaret Cho, and Jason Webley. fans were invited to join in the making of this video by a newsletter that they were given the option of recieving soon before this video was made.
