Re: World of Warcraft Dances
Awesome find. Most dances had obvious origins but its nice to now see some of the sources for the other dances as well.

Not to sure what you are trying to say..I mean is it or is it not.

Anyhow I know I am rambling but try to see it from someone reading it the first time without thinking about it first.

Yeah, the murloc and draenei references made me laugh. The video editing is well made.

Re: World of Warcraft Dances
Male troll dance is capuera (sp?) Its an AfroBrazilian dance fighting technique.

Female troll dance form is brazilian stripper.

ONe is sexy, the other is not.

Re: World of Warcraft Dances
I wonder if Blizzard paid royalities to the owners of the movies for using those dances.

Re: World of Warcraft Dances
there's no royalities to pay on such things. There are no copyright on dances or gestures. If there was, then i would immediately register the middle-finger gesture and become zillionaire.

Re: World of Warcraft Dances
I'm assuming that the poster meant paying royalties for using clips of the movie, not for copying the dance steps. Anyway, there was so little of the movies used that I bet it falls under fair-use. And, btw, choreography CAN be copyrighted. It happens in Broadway shows all the time. The producers of Urinetown: The Musical recently sued a summerstock production for copying the dances and not giving credit. You can't copyright individual steps, much like I can't copyright a single word or a letter, but an entire dance CAN be copyrighted.

Re: World of Warcraft Dances
so let's make sure Mickael Jackson, Britney Spears, John Travolta, Chubby Checker, Mc Hammer, the Tunak Tunak Tun group, Alizée, Flip the Frog, the irish dancers, the peanut butter banana, the white boy and that korean looking gal never find out about this.

Well, once again, I think this video falls under fair-use, what with it being a parody, and all....

Re: World of Warcraft Dances
Where did the peanut butter jelly dancing banana come from anyway? The first time I ever saw it was on Family Guy. It didn't start there?

Re: World of Warcraft Dances
In the famous peanut butter jelly time flash animation, you clearly see the pixels around the banana, that shows the guys used a small animated .gif, enlarged it and had fun with it.

So i guess it originally comes from this:
http://radio.weblogs.com/0123486/myImages/bananaanim.gif
A simple GIF picture that one found funny enough to make a flash animation about.

Re: World of Warcraft Dances
Anybody know where the World of Warcraft European servers are located? Someone said they are all in Britain but I am not sure. Would they have some in Germany, some in Finland etc?

I am trying to do a business plan for my own massive multiplayer game and was wonder how they spread out the resources.
