Scontri Stellari Oltre la Terza Dimensione, literally translated to Stellar Crash Beyond the Third Dimension, was an Italian 1979 science fiction film which was also released under the English title Starcrash as well as The Adventures of Stella Star (in the US).
Stars a much younger David Hasselhoff.

The first guy we see, getting burned and falling to the floor, is Marjoe Gortner, former child evangelist.

I t ain't no Jason and the Argonaughts but for a cheepy Italian ripoff of Star Wars it looks pretty good. Too bad the worst special effect is the Hoff's makeup!

Re: David Hasselhoff: Starcrash Lightsabre Battle
Then you better watch the movie "The humanoid" by Aldo Lado. a TOTAL starwars ripoff, with dark vador costumes, a chinese kid with super powers (they didn't have budget for a yoda mask), hands casting really badly drawn lightnings (Crayola version of the "Force"), ugly spaceships, and disco music 'til the end! Okay, they don't have David Hasselhoff in it but still it's a must-see.
