Re: South Park: D-Yikes!
Funny.

300 was a jingoistic, homophobic piece of war-mongering propaganda.

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir was neither Mormon, nor a tabernacle, nor a choir. Discuss.

Short-order is neither intelligent, rational, nor balanced.

Because all the sweaty men got Short-Order hot and he couldn't deal with the arousal.

Re: Homophobic?
Congratulations. You've successfully continued the tradition of making sure that each and every time someone criticizes 300, they are met with gay jokes and accusations of homosexuality. Your parents must be so proud.

Are your parents proud of you? Or do they not approve of Steve?

Re: Homophobic?
First, the "boy-lovers" comment in reference to the Athenians, when historically nearly all of Greece (including Sparta) practiced pederasty.

Additionally, the portrayal of Xerxes as a make-up wearing, RuPaul look-alike was clearly intended to evoke homophobic response in viewers. Disagree? Do you think we ere supposed to think that he looked cool and macho? If not, what else could have been intended with his costume?

Re: Homophobic?
Clearly intended to evoke homophobic response? Really?

'Cause I sort've thought his costume was based on the graphic novel with the same name, but I guess that might be kind of a stretch.

Re: Homophobic?
It's a stylistic treatment not intended to be an accurate historic portrayal. Holding "300" to that standard is no different than holding "Braveheart" to the notion that William Wallace boned the princess.

Lighten up. Film and comics are meant as an art form to engage and entertain.
