Not all religious figures are zealots, charlatans and spooky figures. I could actually listen to and appreciate the position of the bishop.

I attended catholic school from 1990-2003, and the bishop sounds exactly the way my teachers did, its great, although with the creationalism thing the priest in high school said that, When the bible was getting written that the whole "7 days to create the world" was written in that way to make it easier for people to understand how god works that his plan is so masterful and complex in his/her infinite wisdom that we would just not comprehend, so in a way god "dumbed" it down for us. Which i find to be quite rational from a religious point of view in a scientific world

Even that is too much. When I went to school, a nun taught us all the prevailing evidence and hypothesis regarding evolution, and explained that it was accepted by the majority of the scientific community. She simply added that many people, of course, have different beliefs based on their faith. That was all! Imagine that! No bullsh!t or indoctrination from either side of the socioreligiopolicital fence. Everything she said was true, nothing was false, and we had all the information we needed to make an informed decision for ourselves. Crazy old nun...what was she thinking...
