Re: AKIRA
I love it in any size.
I couldn't ever find the original dubbing on DVD. I had to resort to VHS->DVD dub, which suffered, as the VHS was worn to hell from much, much viewing.
While the renovated version looks beautiful, I couldn't stand the dubbing on that version. Where could you find a DVD of the original? While it's not a horrible thing to listen to the japanese dialogue, the original engilsh has some excellent quotes, like:
'they don't teach tact at the academy'
I guess it comes down to which version you hear/see first.

Re: AKIRA
if your not an anime fan dont even vote on this.... if you are you will appreciate it for what it is...

Re: AKIRA
that should go for everything on milkandcookies. if everyone only voted on the things they liked, everything would get high ratings. people just love to share their opinions however they can, though.

Re: AKIRA
i only stated that becuase anime is one of those things that everyone is gonna try but most will dislike.. rather then see something that is considered of the highest caliber for this category go down with a 4....

Re: AKIRA
My favorite scene: Tokyo gets nuked.
Don't know about the rest, tho. I didn't watch it.

Re: AKIRA
Okay, so I finally got enough time to watch it all the way through... I've put the letters: W, T, and F together before, but I don't think I was ever so genuinely confused as now.
*SPOILER ALERT*
WTF happened when he turned into the huge squishy flesh ball?!? He turned into an amoeba?!? WTF did Akira have to do with anything?!? WTF did those zombie people end up doing?!? WTF happened for them to get out safely?!? WTF happened to the city if it blew up?!? WTF, WTF, WTF?!?
Everything kind of made sense until the last 25 minutes, then it's like a choose your own adventure story that picked all the endings.
