Re: Sad Kermit: Hurt
Okay. So wouldn't it be Kermit covering NIN cover Johnny Cash? Did Johnny really cover it after NIN brought it out? I just find that hard to believe.
On the plus side...great frickin clip. The things a frog will do for smack.

Release: "Hurt"
Date: Appears on '02's "American IV: The Man Comes Around"
What is it? Shortly before his death, music legend Johnny Cash covered this NIN classic.
Says Reznor: "When I saw the video, I cried. It was a little reaffirment that music is magic."

Re: Sad Kermit: Hurt
How right you are:
http://www.secondhandsongs.com/song/8968
Cover hierarchy
Hurt by Nine Inch Nails (1994)
Hurt by Johnny Cash (November 5, 2002)
Hurt by Sevendust (2004)
BTW, I could almost make a submission out of that domain, though it's a pretty incomplete database.

Re: Sad Kermit: Hurt
The Downward Spiral, last song on the original album, I believe.
NIN is a lot better than people seem to think. I don't understand it.
Really, though--how are those lyrics anything but Nine Inch Nails? That's precisely the sort of suicidal-tendencies theme TDS had going for it.

Freaking amazing. the 'expressions' of the puppets during various points in the video were hilarious.
