Anyone who watches the older clip will notice that his bubble act hasn't changed much over the years. Even most of the patter is the same. In old-school vaudeville like this, your act is your act. It's part of the way things are done when all shows were live and nothing was recorded, and Tom Noddy works in that same tradition.
He also has a hilarious hand puppet act that he does when there are a lot of kids in the audience. Part of the fun is to see how many adult jokes he can sneak past the kids.

This guy came to my school when I was about 4 or 5. I helped him out and he made a bear in my hands. It was sweet.
