Years ago I learned how to cheat. I'd peel off the colors then stick them back on the cube all nice and neat.

I think the artist considered that. These look like the version of cubes that have the color directly on the face of the cube, not on stickers.

That's what I had as a kid, though I quickly learned you could turn a section slightly, use a knife, pen or whatever to pry one cube out and then the whole thing was easy to take apart and put back together with all the colors in order.

Lol... The rubiks cube is easy. Most people with half a brain could learn it in less than a week. I taught a friend of mine, took him 6 days or so to master it.
If you think the 3x3 is hard, if you think its impossible...
...Try the 5x5 professors cube.
Im just saying. The guy who did this art, probably spent the week or so figuring the puzzle out. Its really not as hard as it seems. Most people just dont think of it logically at all.
Here is a hint, None of the center pieces move.
... Hell another hint, start with a corner, find the 3 centers it matches with, and line it up into its proper spot. Then work on the pieces next to that one till the top is finished.
If using those hints you cannot get the top 8 pieces in their proper spots. Stop now and consider suicide. You are too stupid to be allowed to breed.
If you succeed in getting the top, then you are capable of learning the whole cube. There are several different methods to solving the rest. The official cube comes with instructions. Otherwise search google, there are several good sites to learn cube mastery.
