I think it's funny to clown on all our ignorant predecessors in a way that parallels the ignorance and lack of initiative in some of today's people.

I thought the brilliant bit was the repeated callbacks, the 'one more thing before you go' that anyone in tech support (or in any support position) has experienced.

You are so right. I shared this with some co-workers. We all came up with the same three names (out of a customer base in the thousands) who could have been the model for Ansgarr.

A real funny video, congrats! Even thought it's been produced in our times I have no doubts in believing that the origins of "help desk" and the freaky questions people sometimes ask are somehow not so far from what is pictured in this video!

Since I do my share of Desktop Support in my job as Site Administrator I thought this was hilarious and RIGHT ON target. I don't think the average user finds much humor in this because it hits too close to home -- but IT folk can really relate right down to the part about the book being harder to use than the scroll. LOVED IT

I loved it - and, yes, for me it did hit close to home, a virtual bull's eye; and that is what is sooo funny!
To you, who are in- the - know, computers are an open book; but, to me and my ilk they are hieroglyphical volumes which need a rosetta stone with which to decipher them. And you enlightened ones are that rosetta stone. So thanks for your patient endurance and help.

Hysterical! Laughed till I cried. As a librarian I can relate, as kids are so dependant on the internet and sometimes seem to forget about books. This is perfect for National Library Week.

I am one of the characters in this sketch and, alas, that character is Ansgarr. This is exactly how I feel when I ask for tech support including the wistfull nostalgia for my trusty "scroll." Nevertheless, I was very amused and have sent it on to everyone.
I'm glad I can laugh at my terror of being found illiterate in a new age I don't quite belong to or understand.
