I checked my body for spores after watching this. After all, which species if not humans got the upper hand over other animals?

There surely is a fungus with our names on its spores.

Re: Parasitic Cordyceps Fungi Attacks Ants
Cordyceps religionosa, I believe. It's already infected most of the population in one form or another.

Some of the little leftover corpses looked really cool. Like something by Giger or Beksinksi. That was a cool video.

Re: Parasitic Cordyceps Fungi Attacks Ants
was anyone else creeped out by the music as they began to show kinda like the montage of infected bugs? Very Danny Elfman from the Nightmare Before Christmas...

Re: Parasitic Cordyceps Fungi Attacks Ants
Yes, but I was way more disturbed watching the mindless ant shivering and lurching like a zombie up the tree limb. How utterly frightening...

Ooh, I loved it! Reminded me of "The Nutcracker," except in a PARALLEL UNIVERSE OF PURE EVIL.

holy crap that gave me chills.

Want proof that Sir David Attenborough's narration makes for far better entertainment? Try this clip that comes without audio...

Just as fascinating yet crap without his insight and explanation.

Re: Parasitic Cordyceps Fungi Attacks Ants
It certainly is creepy, i can imagine that maybe there are spores that can affect humans, deep in the jungle somewhere

Re: Parasitic Cordyceps Fungi Attacks Ants
absolutely creepy. The music was wonderful. The spore growing from the head was positively scary as shit. I love the moments of spinning to let you see the detail and with only the music playing it created a great 'usual suspects' realization moment at the end.

Re: Parasitic Cordyceps Fungi Attacks Ants
I can only imagine that a human version of this spore would create an Invasion of the Body Snatchers type situation...

Time to prep for the apocolyptic, brain-spore, zombie invasion!

Re: Parasitic Cordyceps Fungi Attacks Ants
There are literally thousands of different types of Cordyceps fungi, and remarkably, each specialises on just one species...

The more numerous a species becomes, the more likely it'll be attacked by its nemesis Cordyceps fungus.

That's the part that gave me the creeps.
