John Safran was on TV a fair bit while I was living in Australia, and I CANNOT stand him. His voice is grating, and though is tirades are often funny to begin with, they usually just go on for WAY too long - somehow he likes the sound of his high-pitched nasal voice a little too much.

The whineyness is part of his shtick - he doesn't really talk like that most of the time, although I do agree the lisp gets annoying.
The entire series that this comes from, called 'John Safan vs God' is well worth a look, and hilarious at times. The final episode is a tour de force of strangeness and comedy.

Just a side comment: boobs work better. Once I went to the door when some Mormons knocked on Saturday morning sans a shirt (or anything, for that matter) and they gave me the weirdest look ever. They have never been to an apartment of mine again. In three years.

Well, no. I'm an ex-Mormon from Utah and found this funny (though he does go on a bit too long in his initial rant, I think comedic-timing-wise he could have tightened it up), but Mormons most definitely do NOT believe in "an eye for an eye." That concept belongs to the law of Moses, which Mormons believe was superseded by the law of Christ.

the funny thing about those small (lol) sects is that these kind of freaky and hilarious facts of their beliefs are commonly unknown... they don't seem to talk about these delicate aspects of their faith a lot, for obvious reasons. The same reasons why Scientologists kept it a secret that we actually an offspring of an alien race or whatever... it's just a bit too strange.

The weak point of this is that we hardly hear any replies from the Mormons. Good confrontational comedy a la Michael Moore or Sacha Baron Cohen would be to start an intelligent conversation with the Mormons. Intelligent meaning that the victims only get it when it's already too late. But then it was meant as a pay back... and door-to-door Mormons get right to the point, too.
Still it was kind of boring that the only person who was talking was John Safran himself.
