I read that it's part of a tribute to Gene Roddenberry included in one of the DVD box sets.

I belive I heard it was sort of a 'Happy Birthday Gene!" thing.. i /have/ theboxed set, but I dont' feel liek diging though 7 seasosn of Dvd To figure out which ;)
