A lot of the melody sounds like "We Are The World."

Yup.
And though I love the song, I can't stand the video. I typically thing Bill Plympton is great, but it just doesn't make a good video in my opinion.

I had to watch it a few times to let it grow on me, but I wasn't sure about it myself at first. The video is so different from what Weird Al normally does. Not chock-full of sight gags and picking on celebrities, which is what I fully expected. I heard the song first and figured there'd be fun made of singers and actors, and some of the stuff that happens on telethons or late night child-sponsor ads or something. But it went in a much different direction, and it took me a few views to get into a different mindset to appreciate it more.
I still think it could have been more successful, but I've grown to like it okay.

Too bad this James Blunt song parody won't be on the new album:

James said yes, go ahead, then for the first time in Weird Al history James' actual label went against the wishes of the artist and told Al no.
Since he already recorded it he just made it free to everyone.
