They Live: 6 Minute Fight Scene
In this notorious scene from the John Carpenter cult-classic film They Live, actors Roddy Piper and Keith David fight for an alarming 5-8 minutes (depending on the version of the movie you have - this one is around 5 or 6) over a pair of sunglasses.

Re: They Live: 6 Minute Fight Scene
i took a quick gander over at imdb, and aparently, the glasses allow you to see the world as it really is, with aliens running the world as they please, and subduing the humans. so i guess that Nada (white guy), is trying to get Frank (black guy), to see the truth, and i guess Frank doesn't want to get involved. thats my conclusion at least. maybe someone would like to ellaborate?

I wouldn't want to ruin the movie for you, because it's a trip. I highly recommend watching it.

I agree with MJD. This is definitely a B movie, but a lot of fun and pretty well done.

Re: They Live: 6 Minute Fight Scene
another interesting tidbit about the fight:
"The fight between Nada (Roddy Piper) and Frank (Keith David) was only supposed to last 20 seconds, but Piper and David decided to fight it out for real, only faking the punches to the face. Carpenter was so impressed he kept the 5 minutes and 20 second scene intact."

I've been waiting for this to show up on the internets, and I am so glad it finally has! This is one of the most unintentionally hilarious scenes in all of cinema.
