There is quite bit of truth to that. I once had to do a project on type inference, but I hadn't completed my algorithm until six o' clock in the marnin' the day it was due. I got an A, but the nap I took after turning it in involved a semi-waking nightmare involving type-inference. Nothing is weirder and more confusing than having a nightmare about something so abstract.

I couldn't stop thinking of that scene at the end of Ferris Bueller's Day off where he is racing to get home before his parents. I wonder how that scene influenced this short.

Actually, that didn't have much influence, if any. Haven't seen that movie in ages. One of the biggest sources of inspiration came from the beginning of a Naked Gun movie. :)
