Sigue Sigue Sputnik: Love Missile F1-11
Sigue Sigue Sputnik was a somewhat weird cyberpunk band from the 80's.

The music featured futuristic, post-apocalyptic Blade Runnerish visuals and audio.

One of the first bands to feature sampling of movies in their music, Sigue Sigue Sputnik achieved world wide success with the song "Love Missile F1-11".

A true classic of 80's new wave.

Circa 1986.

(this song was also in Ferris Bueller's Day Off, in the scene where Ferris is in the shower)

Nice image. Is it just me or does that guy on the right look to a little too normal for this band.

Nice. I remember the contemptuous buzz surrounding these guys selling 30 second advertising spaces between their vinyl tracks to Revlon. Ahh, yes. Many wars were fought in determining the definition of what "true punk" was back then. Thankfully the industry has narrowed it down to the ubiquitous Green Day/ formula for us.

Yes thank god for that! Who needs pesky originality getting in the way of focus groups, marketing and sales? Besides if you let the consumer decide what is good, how can you possibly predict projected sales to your target audience?
