God I wish this was translated. All the same, facinating!

Re: Disney self-plagiarism
Definitely fascinating. Other than the obvious reuse (the dwarves at the top, Christopher Robin climbing the fence) I imagine it is done deliberately to keep the Disney 'style' since animators come and go. I remember reading some interviews with Walt Kelly and other Disney animators who said that it was definitely Walt's way or the highway, so that type of direct mimicing makes sense. I can totally see them saying, "We want Maid Marian to dance exactly like Snow White. Here are prints of the original cells. Now down to thy dungeon, man!"

Imagine how much easier this will be with CGI. Just throw on a new mesh and texture and let 'er rip!

Re: Disney self-plagiarism
I have a book on disney animation and they say there are many trick they used for the movies. Animating took forever so if they could reuse a scene by flipping it, or mutiply a character animation on the screen (like those background mokeys and elephants dancing) it took alot less time. Nothing about reuseing scenes in different movies was said but im sure if they had a rough draft of an animation lying around and needed to do a similar scene...

The link below takes you to a BabelFish translation of the page. Not perfect, but it gives you an idea of the context.

Re: Disney self-plagiarism
Though I must admit I'm still a bit confused about the two variations of "The Jungle Book."
