This video illustrated the strange connection between the Pink Floyd album "Dark Side of the Moon" (1973) and the MGM classic film "The Wizard of Oz" (1939).
If you properly synchronize the film and the album, a number of coincidental events occur.
So many, in fact, that a large audience is convinced that Pink Floyd intentionally created Dark Side of the Moon as an alternative soundtrack to the film.

About DAMN time! Now I just need to find a tab of mind-altering substance and a free weekend.
NICE find, BTW. Al Gore had this totally in mind when he invented the Information Super Highway.

What can I say? It brings me back to my liberal arts stoner days spending my parents' money on Doritos and chemicals. We should all have a 4-year opportunity to put life on hold and kill millions of brain cells. Why wait til retirement? heh.

I have to agree with monsieur Podwall on this one. I remember reading about this a few years back but being too lazy to try it myself now thanks to this link, I just have to click play. :)

who, exactly, first dicovered this? I've done it myself and was amazed, but find it hard to beleive that someone just 'stumbled' into the discovery.

When I was in college, many moons ago, it was the thing to get together and watch the Wizard of Oz when it'd appear on broadcast TV, tripping. And Dark Side of the Moon is the ultimate polyphonic accompaniment to LSD, so it was just a matter of time.

I tried it, didn't work this well, someone told me that the newer remastered Wizard of Oz has been edited so it doesn't work with the newer versions. Still cool though

"Hit play on the first roar, or the last?" That was always the question. Good idea to fuse these two onto the web, though when trying this years ago, discovered there to be way too many inconistencies for it to be an intentional "alternate soundtrack". Nonetheless, the few synchronized bits are still cool. Especially when "The Great Gig in the Sky" starts during the tornado scene. Even the title works wonderfully!
