Graffiti artist Marc Ecko tagging Air Force One.

Re: Tagging Air Force One
Yeah, seems to me that this had to be staged or something (maybe a photoshopped jet or one of the AF1's they don't use). I find it hard to believe that security is that lax. If someone can run up and do that, what's to stop him from tossing a satchel charge in one of the turbines or something similar.

Re: Tagging Air Force One
Ah, that makes a lot more sense. Kind of makes you wonder what kind of distribution they're used to though...

Re: Tagging Air Force One
If its fake it doesnt seem very impressive at all then.
Re: Tagging Air Force One
And how exactly is this supposed to get us thinking about freedom of expression?

It's real
Well of course they are going to put up that disclaimer. It's so they can get out of any legal trouble, IE getting arrested. even when hollywood makes a non-fiction movie, they still put in the end, "this film depicts no real events, any similarities etc..." so they can avoid lawsuits. Its just a loophole.

Re: It's real
Yeah, but on a second viewing it's pretty obvious that this is a digital editing job. Like I said before, I find it very hard to believe that they could manage to get that close to it and do something to the plane itself without getting shot.
If this were real, he'd likely have a bullet in the head by the time he crossed the second fence.

Re: It's real
I think the guy deserves to get shot regardless. He believes he is able to cost the tax payers money without complaint. I pay alot of taxes, and wether or not he spray painted the plane, he is setting an example to the rest of the world that it is o.k. and or possible to do.

Snopes is your friend
They've debunked it and quote a news article:
"Ecko acknowledged that his company had rented a 747 cargo jet at San Bernardino's airport and covertly painted one side to look like Air Force One. Employees signed secrecy agreements and worked inside a giant hangar until the night the video was made. Ecko declined to say how much the stunt cost."
So... yeah. Whoop de doo.
Y'know what would be really impressive? Tagging a police car with the cops still in it.

pretty impressive looking video
damm this video looks real, they've obviously gone to alot of effort to keep this video from being leaked early. if this video is about freedom of expression and free speech and such, it definately got my attention which is what it was all about so i applaud them for that.
there was another graffetti video i saw ages ago, it was in europe and a gang of grafetti artists tagged a train as it pulled into the station, they fully covered one side with paint in about 2mins if that, the train couldn't move as other team members had pulled the emergency stop from inside the train and the train itself was blocking the cops from arresting them. never seen anything like it before.
