Saw this in an animation class years ago. Cute allegory about man and the understanding of religion.

Re: The Monk and the Fish
I liked it a lot. Though I often need symbolism explained to me (I didn't get the ending and can't be bothered to try to figure it out) I still liked it a lot. I thought the coordination of the character and the music was faboo, and the animation of the movement and the reflections were really cool too.

Re: The Monk and the Fish
The fish, traditionally a Christian symbol, represents the monk's desire to obtain a deeper understanding about his religion that borders on obsession.

The fish finally starts to guide him at the end, and then after he "passes through the doorway/gate" he finally achieves his wish.
