Re: Mario on two Guitars
Basses don't have 10 strings.
Chapman Stick. www.stick.com
It was a little sloppy, but alright. I'm getting a little tired of the Mario theme, though. Granted, it's very well-known, evokes Gen-X and -Y nostalgia, and is a quality composition.
However, I've heard the jazz version, the symphonic version, the NIN "Closer" mash-up, the (blindfolded) piano version, the single-electric guitar version, and now this. And apparently I've missed a few versions.

Re: Mario on two Guitars
Well, the number of strings isn't the determining factor in whether or not an instrument is (or isn't) a Chapman Stick, since Stick Enterprises owns the name and designs. Since they appear to offer licensing, I assume that they wouldn't take too kindly to another company using the name. As Conklin isn't calling the instrument a Stick and is calling it a bass, it's probably safe to assume that they haven't licensed the name or design, so, really, it can't be a Stick.

Re: Mario on two Guitars
Those Conklin guitars Jean Baudin used are not Sticks neither literal-hypthetically nor technically, but simply bass guitars with more strings.

Re: Mario on Two Guitars
Think about it this way.
EVERYONE knows the mario theme. You start humming it and noone will ask you what you're humming unless they've been living under a rock for the last twenty years or so. Even your 90-year-old grandmother knows the Mario theme.
