Re: Cavemen: Ice Age
I had no idea that these were a series of milk commercials... I had only stumbled across one.
Nice job of hitting the mother lode, Jaxon!

Re: Cavemen: Ice Age
I don't really get the ads, and I don't get the whole "Milk is good for you." thing.
Here's why (keep in mind, I'm lactose intolerant):
1) Cavmen drink soda and eat sandwiches? Who came up with linking those two? I can't follow the logic far enough to get me to the local grocer.
2) Is milk really healthy? Isn't it mostly a fat or fat-byproduct anyway? I understand babies needing it, but when was the last time you saw any grown animal drink milk? Aren't we the children of hunters & gatherers as opposed to hunters, gatherers, and teat-pullers?
Someone enlighten me!
PS - If cavemen somehow drank milk, wouldn't they be chubby and easy to catch? Or just less likely to break?

Re: Cavemen: Ice Age
Cow's milk is indeed likely not a health food. It's NOT MOSTLY fat (even raw milk is under 5%, though some animals produce over 30% fat such as seals and walruses). But it is a food designed by nature for an infant animal to put a lot of bulk on in a short period of time.
In moderation, dairy foods eaten by adults isn't bad but there are far better sources of the nutrients that the dairy industry touts (hey, almost sounds like teats!)... There's more calcium in a serving of broccoli and without that fat; and many of the trace vitamins that exist are added to processed milk.
But hey, it's an ad by an industry council. What, you expect them to be honest? Bottom line is that the animations are quite good and the stories are amusing though not accurate.

Re: Cavemen: Ice Age
The above PSA on the dangers of dairy was brought to you by Lactose Vigilante.
Try getting a 4-year-old to eat broccoli when 2 percent chocolate milk tastes way better. Of course, the only way the 4-year-old's mother will eat broccoli is if it's slathered w/melted cheese, sour cream or Ranch dressing.
Next you'll be telling me that the perfect protein, besides the obvious dirty joke, is not the egg.

Lets be honest here, the best source of all vitamins and nutrients can all be found in none other than PIE!
