As a quick aside, I had dinner once in his Greenwich Village restaurant and he was a genuinely friendly host. My friend Brian got to talking with him about college basketball and Al was quite the UConn fan.
An interesting personality, for sure. Adios Al. You shall be missed.

According to his son he was born in 1923, making him 82 when he died.

I loved Grampa Munster, so I mean no disrespect, but I could of sworn Al died like 10 years ago!
