I'm not easily offended by anything these days, but I can see this being a hot topic for discussion. M&C does not allow certain submissions because they are insensitive (race, homophobia, physical differences) and upon further review, IMHO, this headline may fall under the category of insensitive. Considering there were rougly 3.1 million deaths worldwide due to AIDS in 2005, I'm feeling a touch of shame for laughing at this video. For further stats:

According to the creators, the joke was not about AIDS itself, but rather Peter's attempt at giving bad news in the most upbeat way possible. As with everything in Family Guy (or All in the Family for that matter) context is the important thing and who is saying whatever. In this case its Peter - an obvious idiot - and his attmept to make something slightly less bad.
Knowing this, though, doesn't take some of the sting out of it, but if you don't like it change the channel.

Wellums, thanks for bringing that to light. Even to me, I thought this was on the border of being offensive. If I can reinject a little bit more fact to the discussion, my original description when this was submitted was that it had broached the limits of tastelessnes. Or words to that effect.
But the bottom line is that this clip is but a small snippet of an episode; one that I've not actually seen. So I cannot judge the series or even this clip based upon such a thin sliver of evidence.

I'm the kind of person who laughs at the end of SAW, when the guy has no leg. His face turns blue and he is crawling out of the room and he says "Im going to go get help."

Seriously, my best friend and I went to see "Blue Velvet" eons ago, and ended up being asked to leave the theatre because we thought the movie was hysterically funny.

I got a weird reaction to another Lynch film. I think the "baby" from Eraserhead is adorable (except for when it's sick). When the baby dies, it's pretty hilariously horrible as well.

Well, I do have AIDS, and I laugh my ass off evertime I see or hear this clip.
Please don't be so politically correct as to not appreciate the importance of humour in the response to AIDS, particularly by gay men.
