The MC and main character in the video is Lateef the Truth Speaker, an artist on the Quannum Projects label. He is one half of the duo Latyrx (along with Lyrics Born -- the name is a combination of their respective stage names), and also one half of the duo The Maroons (not to be confused with Maroon Five), along with Chief Xcel. Chief Xcel is better known as the DJ-half of Blackalicious (along with Gift of Gab, who aside from DJ Shadow, is probably the most famous of the artists to come from the Quannum label).
