Re: CNN: So Poor and So Black
i believe they were referring to the discrimination associated with being black, rather than having been black.

Re: CNN: So Poor and So Black
Yeah, I'm gonna agree with Jeff on this one. This clip is worded really awkwardly, but while there were cases of discrimination by the media, I don't think this is one of them.

Re: CNN: So Poor and So Black
I think it was concerning discrimination. Why then would he say "so black" right after "so poor". It was not a confusion between poor and black. That would be non-sence, so wrong, and quite dangerous for him to undermean racism about american black peoples on the biggest american news chanel. He was obviously refering to the discrimination over black peoples.

Re: CNN: So Poor and So Black
It's clear that this was a Freudian slip. It's still funny. Just like the other Freudian slips linked to from this site. I mean really, how can someone be "so black", especially in this context?
Re: CNN: So Poor and So Black
I don't know. Whoopi Goldberg is so black.
BTW, Freudian slips don't hide your junk enough. I prefer a good old-fashioned codpiece.

Re: CNN: So Poor and So Black
What we really need is a link to a nice skin care product for those so thin skinned that they find this kind of verbal stumbling offensive enough to point out to others.

Re: CNN: So Poor and So Black
damn this is old. how does this crap end up headline, let alone a headline a few months after the fact? yikes...
and i think it's wolf blitzer (sp?) saying that, from the situation room.
