Re: The Job Interview: Word Association
...I can't agree more, SNL is not nearly as funny as it used to be.

Ah, the golden age of television.

The original cast was certainly less polished at times and the live performances occasionally resulted in bombs. But this was truly groundbreaking TV.

Re: The Job Interview: Word Association
Wow, what an original thought. I'm totally serious, I don't think anyone has ever said that about SNL before. Are you in Mensa? Because damn, that was awfully insightful. That's anything BUT an observation that's been floating around since 1977 or so.

Well, that is just a tad bit uncalled for.

Re: The Job Interview: Word Association
Every generation loves its cast, and once you fall in love with that cast it's very difficult to learn to love a new one. Plus so much of the humor is very timely and seemingly pointed at an age group. So generations outgrow it. Thirdly, memory is reinforced by the retelling. So each time somebody waxes poetic about this cast or that, they're simply reinforcing the memory. "Back when SNL was funny" has been said to the death. Not that it's not true, it's just so clearly subjective, that the statement is rendered neuter.

Re: Racist Word Association Interview
One of only 2 episodes of SNL where it wasn't actually live. (the other was Andrew Dice Clay's episode)

Not to mention a great skit.

You were a legend Richard Pryor.

R.I.P.

Can't believe he is gone...he was greatness in his time. Too bad to watch what happened to him.

In a speech to the Athens, Georgia, Chamber of Commerce, presidential contender George Wallace said, "I don't judge a man by the color of his skin. I judge him according to how well you can see him in the dark when he smiles."

Re: Racist Word Association Interview
Paul Mooney wrote this skit. You might know him from the recent Chappelle’s Show, "Ask A Black Guy". What a gem. This era was also when Chevy Chase was killing us. That was long before Snow Day.

RIP Richard Pryor... You taught me that people can be socially conscious and entertaining at the same time.
