The only action I can see happening is taxing guns and ammunition like cigarettes or alcohol and using the proceeds for gun victim memorials, gun buy-back programs, subsidized psychological treatment programs, and whatever else I'm not thinking of. Higher cost of ownership should lower demand while reducing the profitability of weapons manufacturers, and additional revenues can be used to address the underlying root causes of gun violence, all while protecting everyone's "right to bear arms."

Blah, blah blah. You brought it on yourself, demanding stuff won't change what you are, America.
