A film by Vic Losick, 'In God We Teach' tells the story of a high school student who secretly recorded his history teacher in class, and accused him of proselytizing for Jesus. The teacher, in danger of losing his job strenuously denied it. The specifics of the controversy lead directly to the church & state arguments that are in the news this election year. Excellent film.
Documented facts & presented both sides, as well as opinions of others involved.
Obviously, the teacher, is not a bad person...but someone who needed reminding that his job is to teach facts, about history...not his own religious beliefs.
Very sad that a teacher is unable to step outside of his comfort zone to consider other opinions but even more troublesome that he refuses to acknowledge his country's laws, despite calling himself a patriot.
