An account of a medical mystery that occurred in California in 1982 when a group of illicit drug users exhibited the symptoms of advanced Parkinson's disease after inadvertently taking heroine contaminated with the toxic chemical MPTP. Re: BBC Horizon Awakening the Frozen Addicts
This issue seems to keep coming back and I have to keep bringing it to yalls attention. I noticed that this site has a small group of people whose posts are allowed to make it to the main page while very few of my videos make it to the main page despite having a good number of votes.
As a long time member I'm feeling like my concerns and opinions on what type of content this site should have on the main page is irrelevant.

Dude, when you get so experienced as I am, you'll know not to worry at all about such minor issues in life. Jaxon picks the headlines. How exactly he does that, I don't know. A link/story must peak his interest or the story must be capable of drawing a lot of other people's attention, according to Jaxon, who also has a weakness for crap sometimes :) I guess. Maybe it involves goat blood and strands of his wife's hair. Sometimes, stories are recommended to him. Mod votes weigh heavy. If I vote ***** on a story, I can usually see that story on the headline page the same day or the next. Of course, I have my own likes and dislikes.
It would be better to have many more voting mods and voting people in general and I REALLY LIKE a feature such as a poll, on which registered members can leave their opinions as to what story should be headlined. However, M&C is a tiny site. I detect few activity in the way of voting, commenting, and contributing stories. This fluctuates.
My personal pet hobby is creativity and freedom, so the central power as personified by Jaxon is not my favorite way to do things, but it is his site and he's free to keep things as he likes. I'm just a mod and before that I used to be just a visitor who likes to share stuff, and actually nothing has changed. I'd think if people would get more of a feeling of being appreciated, they'd donate more of their time. When the feeling of community disappears, you'll see more spammers and no-gooders.
You'll see that if you post really nice stuff, you'll get more headlines, but of course what constitutes nice is a personal matter. Learn from other people's exploits on the Web. I did that and so within one week in 2007 I learned pussycats were often making it to the headlines and I quickly submitted a cat link, which became my first headline. It's fun.
You're free to share and I advise you for your own fun to just have fun. M&C ain't perfect and there's definitely the presence of habit and favoritism at work, but you always get that in some form when one dude runs the show :)

No goats or wives were harmed inthe choosing of this headline!
Being a vegan, Jaxon would only use soymilk and corn silk.

But does he drink beer? I've heard yeast are slaugtered by the million in the brewing process, or they're born by the million. Must look that up one day.
