"Two pillars of economic thought?" A Nobel Prize-winning professor of economics vs. an OB/GYN. Yeah.

"Quisph," the toothpaste tube said.
Fluoridated to the rim, right?

Yeah, that's clearly it. All my precious bodily fluids have been sapped and impurified by the international communist conspiracy.

Should this be re-titled to: revolutionist (Ron) vs. possible accomplice fraudster (Krugman).
Any other suggestions?

How about possible child-rapist (StuBu) vs. possible son of God (wadadde)?
I have no personal interest in Krugman whatsoever. I'm sure the Nobel prize winning, 19th most widely cited economist doesn't need me to defend him. I'm just going to make the point that Ron Paul's convictions regarding economic policy OBVIOUSLY do not stem from any expertise (he doesn't have any), but rather are a direct result of the political ideology he is deeply invested in.
This 'debate' was a bad joke. Ron doesn't even represent an significantly influential or powerful political force.

How about, ... , NO!
And I'm sorry to hear about your narcissism.
On the contrary, it was quite an interesting match-up. Get two people with different sides of opinions and put'em together in a debate style cage match and throw a few possibly loaded questions at 'em to gnaw on.

Right. Something like what you are describing has the potential potential to be thought-provoking, educational, or even funny. But was this any of the above? Nah, just a nearly empty box and a grumpy old wheat-brain reciting passages from the book of make-believe. Also, way too short.
Ali G. talking to Noam Chomsky was rather more entertaining, I must say.
ps. it is clearly possible that I am the son of a god. I do not believe it to be true, but who am I to claim that it cannot be so? If anything, humility and compulsive brilliant reasoning are my biggest character flaws.

What I saw was similar to this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gish_gallop#Debates
Paul has a seemingly unending string of points, and Krugman goes after them as he can but he's just overwhelmed by the volume and doesn't have the time to frame and respond to each point. In my opinion this presents a false sense of equivalence, giving legitimacy to many of Paul's points that aren't valid.
