Wow... especially having, at times, worked in the press, I find myself disturbed that perhaps the most complete telling of this story has come from a high school news department. When I say that, I mean that I know without question that any one of the major network or cable news outlets could easily have devoted the time and resources to make a story just as thorough. They are choosing not to do so. This is the most plain evidence of that fact.

I do find it encouraging that these young journalists were up to the challenge, and if any of them continue on this path, I hope they continue to show the same kind of savvy and courage and continue to cover the WHOLE story. I'd give these guys a Peabody before I'd ever let Bill O'Reilly even touch one.

I am quite sure that the Chancellor found the silence quite scary as she did not really want to speak. Might I suggest that this silent continue? Whereas in her presence not a sound is to be uttered so she understands that her behavior and her condoning of the incident that occurred will not be tolerated by anyone. It is simple. If you do not have the decency to respect the students over which you preside, then you do not deserve to be respected in kind.
