Re: Pat Condell: In Superstition We Trust
How's the change in America, folks? Coming along nicely, I hear. If that dumbass Perry gets the nomination, you better move to some other country; and if he beats that dumbass in office, move out also. Do not forget to move out if Obama stays in office.
My prediction is you better start packing now. Your countrymen and -women are on average equipped with brains the size of peanuts or popcorn. There are some marshmellows, but anything bigger is hard to find.

Re: Pat Condell: In Superstition We Trust
I really like the "None of the Above" idea. Clear the slate of fools.
The problem is, what sane person would run for this low-paying, ultra-celebrity, high-value target position any more? Who would want to deal with all the bullshit posturing and deal-making and back-stabbing? Who wants to hold the ball of choosing between bringing troops home and watching the countries we fucked up massacre themselves in our absence? Who wants to run the numbers for millions of mail-awaiting Americans and tell them that we have to cut their entitlement checks because there are too many retirees and too few workers to pay in?
There's no way to win in that position any more. As a kid, we all wanted to be the President because, in our dumb little minds, that meant we could do whatever we wanted to shape the country/world as we saw fit. The office was something akin to achieving superhero status. Fuckin' royalty, man.
Now, there's a new position that wields far more influence, pays better, and, for the most part, keeps you out of the crosshairs of terrorists and assassins. It's called Industry Expert, a.k.a. Lobbyist. Not only do you get paid handsomely while "serving the public office," but you're typically invited to the rank and file of CEOs and meet-twice-a-year-for-stock-and-a-nice-salary board members afterwards. Kings of the world, baby.
Fuck that Presidency bullshit. Leave that to the drama queens, the anti-elite elites, who want to write a best-selling memoir or two that blames everyone else for all the shit that happened on their watch. Vanity fair motherfuckers.

Re: Pat Condell: In Superstition We Trust
I should just point out that Pat votes UKIP (UK Independence Party) who, for the uninitiated, are a slightly veiled right wing minority party who claim to stand for British independence, which roughly translates as disliking and distrusting anything with the prefix "Euro"... hence his misguided self flagellating oh-its-got-nothing-to-do-with-the-capitalistic-lack-of-banking-regulation critique of European social democracy and our financial woes.
