Re: David Letterman: Comedian Joe Wong
I agree. He is using his ethnicity and timing pretty well. Some of his jokes are not very strong; however, he pauses while waiting to hear audience laugh. And he gulps and stares at the audience, while “desperately” expecting approval. This system works since the pause becomes awkward, and people will eventually laugh, because it is just funny moment!
I wish he said something like: “If you don’t laugh, my green card will not be renewed and I will be deported back home and brutally executed!” It would make it even funnier.

His show pacing sucks but his timing and delivery are pretty good. So, his jokes aren't too strong, agreed, but i've seen many stumbling performances by a lot of big names when they were starting out.
I admit it, I laughed a few times.

The pacing is part of what I found funny. He's like Latka, only real.

That's it, bubba. A Chinese Chris Walken right there. I'd love to see his impression.

Actually, I was thinking he's the Chinese Yakov Smirnoff... but he is funny. Give this guy a couple more years, and he'll kill.
