Yall obviously don't do your homework. There are three dancers doing this remake. David "Elsewhere" Bernal is one of them. They redid the whole set and lighting to make it perfectly exact to the movies so that they could superimpose Gene Kelly's face to the dancers. David doesn't do flips and stuff so thers proof of other dancers. You can also read about it by searching for the interview. They had to make everything exactly the same as the movie to make the face look right on the dancers even though they wore prostectic ones for the nonclose up shots. David complained of the wetsuit and tight costumes and crappy shoes, so his moves arent as clean as they could be. For the closeups...they told him tto just wave his arms in some funky manner, for the noncloseups, they were choreographed moves yet he was able to link them together freestylish. Hope this clears this all up for everyone, thanks.

It's pretty obvious in a couple of scenes that Kelly's face was just plopped onto a CG animation body but that didn't matter. I still loved every second of the clip.

The dancer does that little stop-motion move which reminds me of Elsewhere, but Elsewhere is a lot cleaner and smoother. Look at the scene where "gene" is on standing next to the pole - he just kind of does random twitches with his arm. Elsewhere is a lot smoother and more in sync with the music.

No, it's not CG animated.
They have worked with breakdancers in this video. Only CG in this video is Gene Kelly's face on the dancers.

I'm tired of it too, but I think this ad is incredible and well done. I'm truly impressed. If other adverts put as much time and effort into their ads instead of going LOL SHIZZLE LOL, then perhaps there wouldn't be such a backlash against them.

Yeah Sometimes hip-hop and rap is pushed into places it shouldnt go. But I completely dissagree otherwise. Hip-hop is completely ground breaking. you're just not digging deep enough. Some of the most inovative and fucking amazing music is comming from Hip-hop.. But im sure you're comfortable bashing only whats put in your face..

I think this video is awesome, they have really done a great job. In some portal i read that they tried to show how they modified the old golf gti, while being loyal to past. So the video Kelly dancing to modern music is a great resemblence of this.
Does anyone know if this ad is made for Superbowl? I figured since it's pretty new and advanced technology it might be for the superbowl half time.
Also where can i find this track!!!!!!
it can't be found anywhere, i think even Mint Royale hasn't published this song yet to listeners. Awesome band!

Watching this made me feel nostalgic. Now I want to go and watch Singin' in the Rain again.

But in the meantime, some things need to be cleared up. Gene Kelly's face was digitally pasted on top of either Elsewhere's or Bboy Crumb's body depending on what the current scene called for. Those were the only dancers in the commercial.

Guys i think many of you are missing the point that this is a truly amazing ad.... im from the UK and we have many wierd and wonderfull ads.... see tango for examples.... this is an ad in a leauge of its own... i rarely post on these forums unless i feel strongly.
My point is..... who cares who body popped.... who cares who wrote the tune... who cares what they are advertising.... we are all making posts on this site cause that gene kelly ad is one of the best ive seen for years... and i watch a lot of tele :)
So lets just agree that this is one of the best ads/movies/tunes around for a LONG time.... and all agree that this brings us together through mutual appreciation.... and if you think it doesnt.... why are you reading this post in the first place?

Any news on the Release of this song yet. I have found quite a few of the rips off the video but nothing of any quality. heck if he sold it as a single Id buy it up. Just curious becuase on his site last month he announced he was going to give it a go.
