Jesusophile: Why It is Okay for Sex to Hurt the Vagina >>
If life arose spontaneously, random letters should eventually be able to create the very first line of The Bible.

And since the numerical value of pi never repeats, if you convert pi into binary, eventually you should be able to come up with a section of code that shows Carmen Electra having sex with every man and woman on earth.

... or a thousand apes banging at a thousand typewriters and coming up with War and Peace.
Yes, I agree that odds are against any of this happening. However, we humans have such a short lifespan compared to that of this planet. We really cannot comprehend a million years, much less the 4500 times that amount that modern science states its been here.
Given that sort of time frame, the odds of a penny coming up heads 50 million times in a row are probably pretty good.

Re: Evolving Genesis
Actually, code that produces random letters will indeed eventually produce the first line of the bible. And if I flip a coin enough times, at some point I'll get heads 20 times in a row. Any event, now matter how low its probability, will occur if given enough chances. To suggest that this web site's "experiment" disproves scientific explanations of life's origins is willful ignorance.

I yield to the imagery and eloquence of Paelos, who posted his comment while I was composing my own.
Re: Evolving Genesis
Actually, I am one who believes more in evolution than creationism. Okay, I am a strict atheist. Purely evolution.
That said, I will remain open minded and listen to the story that others are willing to share with me.

this also doesn't take into account selective pressure making the appearance of certain letter combinations more favourable than others.
