I'm not sure what this poem was trying to say. The best I can come up with is the old zen thing: "Before enlightenment: chop wood, carry water. After enlightenment: chop wood, carry water."
I much prefer "The End of the World Bake Sale" by Gregory Hischak. You can google it. Please note that Hischak writes his poems in paragraph form; they look like stories, but they are read as verse.
