You do *not* want to play against this guy.

Re: Foosball Acrobatics
Impressive, but it would have been better if they hadn't replayed the tricks 7 or 8 times apiece.
Re: Foosball Acrobatics
Sorry, but something about it just seemed too fake. Even if it were real, it was played over & over, not really impressive.

Re: Foosball Acrobatics
Actually, the tricks are real. Unfortunately, they're not very difficult for accomplished players to perform. Back in the early '80s when foosball was gaining popularity, I got involved in foosball cashspiels (eliminations for cash prizes) and these sorts of tricks were already commonplace. The ball-juggling thing was not for use during actual games, but just for showing off (unless you wanted to eat a knuckle sandwich); the second technique (an example of which is shown at the end of the clip) is still the most common technique in foosball, i.e. either bounce the ball off the wall repeatedly, parallel to your rod, so that it bounces back, whereupon you let it slide past the first man and hit it with the second man; or quickly pull the ball parallel to the rod with the first man and strike it with the second man as it clears your opponent's defender(s). The idea is to either confuse your opponent, or catch him/her napping. In reality, this technique is probably the first one that any foosball player learns.
I would have been more interested if English were applied to the ball (by exerting heavy pressure on the man so that the ball squirts sideways and curls into the goal) or if bankshots were shown. But, lacking stuff like that, I agree that this clip wasn't very impressive.

Re: Foosball Acrobatics
as founder of headline, somehow feel compelled to say.... well make your own video and become an e-sensation too!! this is beyond most people's scope ( who get pretty jacked up if they manage to score ) and that's generally because most people don't have the time to get this skilled. if your even better, then please do make a clip ( if you have the buckets of time to learn this, then you can't claim your too swamped =p )

Re: Foosball Acrobatics
Yes, the tricks are doable - yes I've seen them done. but this video was a fake. If you watch closely, during one of the first tricks, the ball changes and becomes computer generated. The juggling between players is real, as far as i can tell (it's also the easiest thing to do on the video). But the air tricks are fake.

Re: Foosball Acrobatics
that was awsome. you gotta have some quick reflexes and exact timing for those tricks.
and for those complaining about the same trick being shown multiple times, they play it once, then again in slow motion. in all i think about 6 tricks are done.

Re: Foosball Acrobatics
I'm not saying the guy doesn't have skills, it just doesn't have much of a WOW factor, compared to those Japanese guys that play ping-pong Matrix style, ok?
By: fudrom
Re: Foosball Acrobatics
well, that's a bit unfair considering the pingpong thing is guys in black suits and costumes moving fake legs around, when this guy is actually DOING these tricks...

Re: Foosball Acrobatics
Oh yea....well, you should see me do that thing where I uh....well, the ball goes flying up and....
Eh, never mind. I suck at Foosball. I always end up catching one of those poles in the Tastycools. Either that, or hurting my soft supple wrists on the flingy action of spinning those little mens around.

Re: Foosball Acrobatics
This would be great for my video site, anyone know where i can download this video from?
Milkandcookies has a really annoying link refferal system or something, so you can't download the videos from them.

Re: Foosball Acrobatics
Not being an ass, but why do people answer their own questions? If you answered yourself then no need to post!
Personally, I don't know what's great about this vid that's worth downloading.

Re: Foosball Acrobatics
it's possible he wanted to share the URL he found in case someone else wanted to know. Also, it could save anyone trying to help him the time of going out and looking if he's already got what he needs.

Re: Foosball Acrobatics
I know, but again, do you really want to save this vid and treasure it always on your HD? LOL

Re: Foosball Acrobatics
The trick where he hits it over the entire table and into the goal seems pretty hard to block to me.
Re: Foosball Acrobatics
You can download any video off M&C, guess you're just too stupid to know how. If you know HTML at all to design websites then you should know how to download videos.

Re: Foosball Acrobatics
I guess you've never heard of hiding streaming media behind javascript huh noob.. That's way past html and that's why a lot of people can't figure out how to download streaming videos, which is exactly what they want...

Re: Foosball Acrobatics
I'd like to note there is a way to steal streaming audio! Steal vids from launch.yahoo.com its not illegal! Look for WMRecord 9!

Re: Foosball Acrobatics
First I'd like to say, that that isn't a good foosball table(or whatever you like to call it). Here in europe,(belguim) we have much better tables, not made from plastic, but from strong wood, an strong bars. Just wanted to mention it....
