Hey, even coming from an anti-gun liberal state, I gotta tell ya that if guns are safely stored and locked, they're not the perceived problem that most of my neighbors think that they are.
The problem isn't gun ownership. It's the racist bastards who want to use the guns and the issues to promote fear.

Yes, that, and look at the statistics. Gun laws obviosly only apply to people to follow the laws. What percentage of gun crimes are committed by people using their own gun that is registered and documented? Not too many. So keep on taking guns from the lawful, the unlawful will keep right on doing what they are doing.
