Not Working?
Yes... the childhood story we all loved is examined (aka: skewered) with a slightly more critical view. If you think the biblical account makes sense... think again.

Re: Noah's Ark-God, Giraffes & Genocide
He missed a few more problems:
Genesis 7:24 - "The waters flooded the earth for a hundred and fifty days."
Genesis 7:11 + 8:13 - (Rains start when he is 600, 2nd month, 17th day) + ("the water had dried up from the earth" when he is 601, 1st month, 1st day) = (~300 days)
Genesis 8:14 - "By the twenty-seventh day of the second month the earth was completely dry." (another 10 days? or ~100 days from start?)
Genesis 8:6-12 - (Did he send out a raven, a dove, or both?)

Re: Noah's Ark-God, Giraffes & Genocide
Does no one know the story of Utnapishtim as compared to Gilgamesh? If I'm not mistaken, its is almost the exact same story as Noah's Ark and yet was written some 600+ years before the bible.
Just a coincidence I suppose.

Re: Noah's Ark-God, Giraffes & Genocide
It's not a coincidence in the sense that a huge number of religions and cultures have come up with a deluge myth, in which the world is destroyed in a great flood. It's just one of those universal symbols that seem to reappear again and again.

Re: Noah's Ark-God, Giraffes & Genocide
I guess if you think the earth is flat and all you see is water, it's not an irrational conclusion that all the world is six feet under.
Re: Noah's Ark-God, Giraffes & Genocide
Just like it's not much of a stretch to keep on believing the same stuff that was hammered into your head when you were a child. And thus, religion is perpetuated...

Hey, look, Jag! Two cats in the same boat. Now we may survive the impending global warming flood.
Unless you, too, are a guy. In which case, I hope you're also a genetic engineer...

I know this is nerdy, but god seems to be restarting X server rather than rebooting the earth.

God seems to keep going to sites with virus's that corrupt the earth. He should invest in an anti-virus program, and maybe use Firefox instead of AOL ><
