Face-Off With a Deadly Predator
This video chronicles an encounter that National Geographic photographer Paul Nicklen had with a giant leopard seal in Antarctica who, over the course of four days, fed penguins to his camera and tried to teach him how to catch prey.

He describes his most amazing experience as a National Geographic photographer - coming face-to-face with one of the arctic's most vicious predators.

Poor leopard seal. That photographer must've looked pretty sexy. Four days of penguin dinners, and the guy didn't even put out once. What a tease.

Guess he didn't want to break the seal...

And AWAY!

Re: Face-Off With a Deadly Predator
Methinks the leopard seal was courting the camera, not the photographer.

As for the description, we need to make an edit. It's ANTarctic. No penguins or leopard seals up north.

Ok, once you get passed the cold water part brrrrr...think green palms, swaying in tropical warm wind, smell of ocean and lush flowers, ok better.

The story is touching, maybe not for the penguins. The idea of kindness between animals of different species, between a predator and potential pray... sure goes against the dog eats dog ideology that has been force fed by national geographic.
